World's First Glow-in-the-Dark Leather Art and Furniture Exhibition

Saturday 28th September 2024

World's First Glow-in-the-Dark Leather Art and Furniture exhibition. Yes you read that right! I was invited to the opening of Evrim Kadioglu Marriott's exhibition on Saturday evening and was completely blown away by what I saw (when the lights went out).

🎨 The exhibition is on for another couple of weeks at the lovely Gallery Marquess in Mayfair and I'd highly recommend checking it out if you can.

Evrim is a trailblazing figure in the world of leather engineering. One of the first 9 leather engineers in the world, she has incredibly and innovatively developed a method to make leather glow-in-the-dark, which among other applications has been applied to furniture and art, as you can see in this exhibition.

I'm really looking forward to working with Evrim as her Business Mentor (as part of the Nat West Bank programme) as she transforms the leather industry with her partners at Virtuo Design UK.

Entrepreneurs Award in Socials Innovation

Monday 3rd June 2024

EASI but not Easy!

🎉 I was so delighted and full of pride and emotion witnessing Liz Beh, Tresacare founder, win the prestigious EASI Award (Entrepreneurs Award in Social Innovation) on Monday.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Liz for a couple of years since being her Business Mentor on the NEF+ programme at Centre for Entrepreneurs when Tresacare was in its infancy.

Liz has not had it easy by any stretch of the imagination: some serious health issues inspired her to establish Tresacare (a Social Enterprise dedicated to supporting care workers) in the first place but then threatened to prevent her even making it to pitch night. Her courage and determination saw her through!

From 100s of applications, The Company of Entrepreneurs EASI programme selected 6 excellent finalists who should all be congratulated for their compelling pitches and I'm sure will benefit from the continuing support of the Company and EASI programme: Dino Bertolis Sol Escobar Carla Jouavel Angus Rogers Mireille Steinhage should all be very proud of themselves

💰 The prize was a Big One: £10,000 which will help fund the development of an App prototype as Tresacare scales its operations.

Well done Liz! 🎈 🍾

20/20 Levels is a social mobility organisation, empowering Black and racially underrepresented young people through opportunities to maximise their potential. 🌟

It was a wonderful night, and a great opportunity to see the wonderful work 20/20 Levels is doing to support young people. It was an honour to share my own tips as well as learn from others. 🎉

"We had our very first mentor mixer and it's safe to say it was a success! 👏🏾

It was an evening filled with meaningful connections and invaluable insights! We soaked in all the wisdom about what it truly means to be a mentor along with the importance of mentoring and all its benefits!

Not only did we hear from our recent pitch night winner Ashling A. and her mentor Julian Scott-Reid but we also had the UK's leading business mentor, Simon F. as a guest speaker!

So, if you're keen to jump on board and be part of our mentors, click the link below to sign up and let's continue to build bridges, share wisdom, and inspire greatness! 🙌🏾 "
